Going Down The Up Escalator

from Trial & Error by Emma Jayne

/

lyrics

I'm rather torn in terms of what I want
Should I stay or should I go or if I go will I get caught
No thats okay I'll get left behind as always
I have become utterly cliche, unrealistically day dreaming sends the pain away
Oh this facade, it might seem quite odd, but inside I'm brewing

I'm not complaining I'm just stating facts
But I fear that the continuous monotony will cause me to crack

Give in to your desires before your time expires
Why can't I practice what I preach
It's my life, I'm the dictator
Why am I going down up escalators?
Away from the goals I'll never reach

Insomnia will lead to my demise analytical and troubled and so sunken eyed
I will digress there's no need to stress the routine is sticking
I can't explain the feelings that I feel
Although it's strange I will assure you that they're very real
I'd rather be without sympathy instead of your faking

I'm not complaining I'm just stating facts
But I fear that the continuous monotony will cause me to crack

Give in to your desires before your time expires
Why can't I practice what I preach
It's my life, I'm the dictator
Why am I going down up escalators?
Away from the goals I'll never reach
